Career History

I became a Chartered Civil Engineer and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers in 1999. Shortly thereafter I joined the main contractor’s team on the Dublin Port Tunnel as the project planner.  That role included responsibilities for the particularisation, substantiation and negotiation of extensions of time and other time-related claims. [3 years]

In 2004 I joined Lagan Group as a Project Manager.  That role included responsibilities for the pricing, negotiation, delivery and close-out of civil engineering contracts, requiring knowledge and practical experience of contractual issues arising. [3 years]

I then decided to specialise in construction contract matters and dispute resolution.  I joined Kearney Consulting providing expert advice, party representation (in adjudication) and expert opinion. [3 years]

In 2010 I set up Vantage Three Limited - a specialist practice providing expertise in commercial and programme management, contract governance, project recovery and dispute resolution.  I am currently a retained advisor on contractual (time & money) issues, a party representative in dispute resolution processes (mostly adjudication), an instructed Expert Witness (mostly delay & programme issues), and a training provider in various standard forms of contract (FIDIC, Suite of Public Works, NEC3) and forms of dispute resolution (ADR generally, adjudication & the CIArb’s AFL). [6 years].

I also lecture at Warwick University.
