2008 - Co-presenter of in excess of 40 two day and three day seminars on the Public Works Contracts to Government Departments and Public Bodies.

2009 - Presenter of 30 half day lectures on the Public Works Contracts to  the Society of Chartered Surveyors and Chairman of the follow up workshops.

2010 - Co-presenter of a five day Conciliation course for the Society of Chartered Surveyors to qualify participants for the SCS Conciliators Panel.

2011 - Appointed lecturer on the Public Works Contracts on the Professional Diploma in Architectural Practice (Level 9) for RIAI Registration at the Dublin School of Architecture, DIT.

2011 - Member of a number of committees in the Society of  Chartered Surveyors covering Public Works Contracts, Dispute Resolution and Professional Conduct.

2015 - Member of the Panel of Adjudicators under Section 8(1) of the Construction Contracts Act 2013.

2016 - Member of various dispute resolution Panels for the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland, Engineers Ireland and the Construction Industry Federation.

Experience

In addition to thirty years’ experience as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in professional practice I have been appointed as Arbitrator, Adjudicator, Conciliator and Mediator on over 130 construction and engineering related disputes. I have also acted as an Expert Determinator and prepared many Expert Reports for Arbitration and Court Hearings.

Sample disputes include residential developments, local authority housing schemes, school projects, food processing plants, medical facilities, university facilities, mixed use commercial / retail / residential developments, water schemes, drainage schemes, road, tunnel and interchange schemes, co-developer disputes, employer / consultant disputes. The 130 appointments have covered all the standard main contracts and sub-contracts as well as bespoke agreements.
